On the first Sunday of every month, join us to explore the newly restored Abney Park Chapel. At midday, Abney Park Trust are hosting a 30 minutetalk, giving an insight into the history of the Chapel. Also, to celebrate St David’s Day, we will talk about two brilliant Welsh residents of the cemetery: Henry Richard- the Apostle of Peace; and Betsi Cadwaladr- a Balaclava Nurse.
Occurring on the first Sunday of every month and led by Abney Park Trust, this tour focuses on Abney Park's uniqueness – from its diverse permanent residents to the striking funerary architecture, as well as its historic dual function as both burial ground and arboretum since it opened in 1840.
Join us in the Harriet Delph room for a cinematic celebration of the Women of Abney, with an introduction by Sue Doe. This film is a collaboration between The Hackney Society, Tower Theatre and Abney Park Trust.
The Abney Unearthed project created an exhibition that was hosted by Hackney Archives for Hackney History Month 2025. This is now being displayed in the Harriet Delph room for one day only. Displays include a project overview, plot maps and stories of some of the fascinating figures who lived and worked in Hackney.
Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Hackney Council, Abney Unearthed is an exciting project to remap the cemetery and discover more about the people buried there. The project manger is giving a talk about the exhibition and to explain why the project is so vital.
In honour of Earth Day, Abney Park Trust is hosting a talk from the team at Hackney Council who are responsible for the ecology of Abney. The global theme of this year’s Earth Day is: Our Power, Our Planet. Join us to hear why Abney Park, our local nature reserve, is important to Hackney Council and how that translates into practical actions.
You can access recordings of our previous online talks here. If you are able to visit the park in person, why not take one of our self-guided walking tours.
