Introduction to Abney's Ecology

  • Abney Park Trust Stoke Newington High Street London, England, N16 0LH United Kingdom (map)

In 1993, Abney was designated at Hackney’s first local nature reserve, reflecting the importance of the site’s ecology, as a central London woodland, as a place where the fallen trees allow fungi to flourish and one where invertebrates can find a home. 33 years later, with Hackney Council declaring a climate emergency in 2019, the ecology of the site is even more important, and even more under threat. Join Abney Park Trust for a walk through this special site and an introduction its ecology and why it matters.
