Ever wondered about the ordinary people buried in Abney Park?
This Abney Unearthed tour takes you on a journey of discovery into the history of common graves and the people interred within, from 1840 when the cemetery opened.
We will speak about the early graves recently discovered by the project volunteers and tell the stories of some some of the people interred here.
We will also discuss the number of common graves in Abney, how many have been noted by Abney Unearthed, as well as why these graves are so important to the project and the mapping of Abney Park.
The Abney Unearthed project is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Hackney Council, with support from the Abney Park Trust.
From the Stoke Newington High St entrance, please meet at the end of the pedestrian walkway - where the path splits into three.
