Join us to explore this specially curated, interactive art trail of secular memorial shrines. When the sun goes down, ticket holders will be treated to a twinkling illuminated path leading from the High Street entrance into the chapel. Join us to experience a rare opportunity to see the park and Chapel after dark. Tickets are essential, as this event will run after park opening hours. These early bird tickets are available until midnight on 16 October, when our full price tickets will be released.
Altar will be created with 10 artists, set designers and YOUR ancestors. Whose life will you honour? Who’s life has shaped you? We want to include them - bring messages, quotes and photos to add, with opportunities for a printing booth for crafting for all ages. See www.projectaltar.com for more details.
Whatever your faith, whether you were born 1000 years ago or yesterday, we have more in common than divides us. This isn't about death. It's about life, love, loss, joy - the human experiences that unite us. Altar aims to amplify the voices of the unheard, in this case those we have lost.
These event tickets are being facilitated by Abney Trust on behalf of the organiser Project Altar. By buying your ticket you are accepting that your details will be shared between Abney Trust and Project Altar for the purposes of this event.
Access information: level access at our High Street entrance, ramp access at our Church Street entrance. The Chapel has level access and accessible facilities, including baby changing. Dogs are welcome in the daytime but not for this evening trail, with the exception of service dogs on leads. Free tickets for carers accompanying disabled ticket holders.
