Nick Toner
Deputy Chair
Nick Toner is a charity manager and arts producer. At work, he manages the Newington Green Meeting House (a building once home to Mary Wollstonecraft and other pioneering radicals) and looks after charity finance, operations, personnel and more. There he also runs Arts on the Green, the building’s community arts and culture programme. As a writer and photographer, he explores cityscapes, landscapes and people’s connections to their places.
At Abney Park Trust, Nick chairs the events committee. He has been a trustee since 2020 and Deputy Chair since September 2021. He grew up in Cumbria but has lived closed to the park for most of his adult life. His grandfather was born in Hackney in the 1920s, and his grandfather’s godfather William Bramwell Booth is buried right here in the park close to the Church Street entrance.
