Many people provided a variety of medical practices to the residents of Hackney, as well as London-wide. Join Abney Unearthed for a walking tour to discover the originator of the Medical Witnesses Act, a president of the Royal College of Surgeons, homeopaths, one of the co-founders of the Hunterian Museum and a pioneer in the treatment of TB.
Abney Unearthed is a volunteer-based project that was developed to remap Abney Park and also research, discover and share the many life stories of those interred here. The Abney Unearthed project is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Hackney Council, with support from Abney Park Trust.
