Chapel Open Morning

  • Abney Park Trust Stoke Newington High Street London, England, N16 0LH United Kingdom (map)

Join us on Sunday 1st March for an opportunity to view inside the newly restored Chapel. If you just want to see the inside of the Chapel, please feel free to drop in at any time between 11:00 and 13:00.

In addition at midday, in celebration of St David’s Day, Abney Park Trust are hosting a 30 minute long talk, about two very different but brilliant Welsh residents of Abney, Henry Richard - the Apostle of Peace; and Betsi Cadwaladr - The Balaclava Nurse. Please join us, with the opportunity ask questions, to explore and to photograph the interior of the Chapel.

We would also like to gather stories from local people about their memories of the Chapel - come and share yours with us. Information about Abney Park Trust will also be available on the day.

Looking forward to Sunday 5 April , the chapel open day talk at midday will feature Rebecca Jarrett, activist and former sex worker; her links with the Salvation Army and how these transformed her life.

Because Abney can get quite muddy in winter, we would request no dogs in the chapel.
Toilets and baby changing facilities available.

Access Information:
Service dogs on leads are welcome.
Accompanying carers welcome.
There is ramp access at Church Street entrance, there is level access at the Stoke Newington High Street entrance.
The ground floor of the Chapel is fully accessible and there are accessible toilets available onsite.
