Learn to knit and crochet workshop 1

  • Abney Park Trust Stoke Newington High Street London, England, N16 0LH United Kingdom (map)

Join us to learn how to knit or crochet in our new community room next to the cafe. This series of three workshops is for absolute beginners and those who need a reminder of the basics – but rest assure you don't even need to have ever touched a crochet hook or knitting needle before! Susan is an experienced workshop leader and will take you from a starting point of beginner level and beyond, to becoming naturally fluent.

The sessions will be fun, with clearly set out achievable goals and will run weekly on three consecutive Tuesdays on Nov 26th, Dec 3rd and Dec 10th. Feel free to sign up for one session to get started, or all three to develop your skills. These workshops are aimed at young people and adults - young people 11-16 years are welcome, accompanied by a parent/carer.

You will receive support and hands-on help , as you learn fundamental techniques and best practices. This winter, the project will be knitting or crocheting a cosy neck warmer. Please come with your own yarn and set of tools.

Please bring the following to the workshop:

2 x 100g of Wool And The Gang yarn or a substitute weight yarn.

1 x 10mm hook for crochet or a pair of 10mm knitting needles

Scissors

Tapestry needle

Stitch markers
