Celtic storytelling and songs for families

  • Abney Park Trust Stoke Newington High Street London, England, N16 0LH United Kingdom (map)

Spring is coming! It may feel cold and windy, but underneath the ground the seeds are stirring for Imbolc - the coming of Spring. Join storyteller Emily from Dragonfly Tales for an interactive story adventure, celebrating the ancient Celtic battle between winter and spring - who do you think will win?

This time of year marks the turning of the seasons, with the Celtic festival of Imbolc falling midway between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. Come and shake off the winter blues with traditional stories and songs to celebrate new life awakening in the natural world around us. Then take a walk in our beautiful nature reserve and see if you can find the spring shoots emerging!

This  is an event for families with children aged 4+, please book a ticket for every person in your group, whatever their age. (Babes in arms welcome, no ticket needed).  We want everyone to be able to access this event and feel welcome at Abney Park. If you are unemployed or on a low income and would like us to arrange free tickets for you, please contact info@abneypark.org

From the Stoke Newington High Street entrance, follow the path straight ahead to the circle of cobbled stones, then take the right hand path to the Chapel in the heart of Abney Park. The ground floor of the Chapel is now fully accessible.

Babychanging and accessible toilet facilities are available, but please save food for picnics outside. (Breastfeeding and bottle feeding of babies is always welcome). Please note that dogs will not be able to join us in the Chapel and buggies/pushchairs will need to be parked outside. Paths can be muddy at this time of year.
