Abney Park Trust AGM 2026

  • Abney Park Trust Stoke Newington High Street London, England, N16 0LH United Kingdom (map)

As part of our formal governance, we produce accounts that are independently examined and an annual report. Both will be presented at the Annual General Meeting and can be reviewed here.

The Annual General Meeting is free to attend and will take place at 7pm on Thursday 12 November 2026, in the Harriet Delph Room, next door to the Sabel Café, Stoke Newington High Street, London, N16 0LH. Map link here.

As part of our governance, we are required to invite our members to attend. But we would also like to invite others who are interested in the Trust’s work to come and hear more about what we have done this year and what we plan to do over the next 12 months.

For fire safety reasons, we have capacity for 40. We would therefore be grateful if you would register to let us know if you wish to attend using this TicketTailor page. If you do register but your plans change, please let us know by email to info@abneypark.org. If more people register than the room’s capacity then priority to attend in person will be given to members.  Unfortunately the room does not support a hybrid meeting.

The agenda, minutes of the 2025 AGM meeting and a copy of the annual accounts are available here.

The formal business of the meeting will be:

- Retirement of trustees by rotation: Under the articles 1/3rd of the trustees (excluding council nominees) must retire and may (but need not) offer themselves for reelection. John McShane, Martina Girvan and Imogen Clark (together 1/3rd of the board) are all standing down with effect from the AGM and do not want to offer themselves for reelection.

- The appointment of our three new trustees: Thomas Beardmore,  Mary Hurd and Zoe Pahne. Thomas, Mary and Zoe all bring exciting new skills to the board; each was co-opted to the board during the course of the year and are now offering themselves for election as trustees by the members; you can read about their experience and why they want to be a trustee at this link here.

- The appointment of Tim Ling to review our financial statements for 2026/27.

- The receipt by the meeting of the accounts and annual report.

In addition there will be presentations about what we have done in the last year, our plans for next year and beyond and the work of Abney Unearthed.

Please join us if you can to find out more about what we do and support our work.

Please note that a member of the Trust is entitled to appoint another person as their proxy to exercise all or any of their rights to attend and to speak and vote at the AGM. If you want to do so please send a written notice, setting out your name and the name of the person you wish to appoint as proxy to: info@abneypark.org

The main High Street gates to the park will be closed at the time of this meeting. Please go to the right of the High Street gates (as you face them) and enter via the gate at the side of the lodge/cafe building. This evening-only access route to the Harriet Delph Room is accessible to wheelchair users.
