Writing Hackney’s Black History As part of Black History Month 2026, Abney Park Trust are proud to partner with More Curriculum to host  a presentation by The Hackney Black History Book Project. This project is creating a book that honours the remarkable contributions of Black individuals throughout Hackney's history — from community leaders and activists to artists, educators and everyday heroes. Through careful research and community engagement, the book will build a lasting record of the vital role Black people have played in making Hackney the vibrant borough it is today.
