Join Tabita Thompson to explore hand sewing techniques to upcycle and customise your clothes. This sustainable workshop will help us become more aware of how we can reuse our clothes, and enhance and even repair them through creative embellishment. The item of clothing may be very much loved, but has a hole or has a 'tired' look. We will explore how to use hand stitches, including embroidery with floss, wool and/or ribbon. By embellishing them, our clothes can become special to us and bring some joy into an otherwise unused item in our wardrobe.
This workshop is for adults of all ages. Tabita is an experienced workshop leader specialising in creative sewing techniques including embroidery, patchwork, and sashiko. She will bring all the materials needed for the workshop - scissors, needles, thread etc. Please bring an item of clothing or piece of fabric that you would like to embellish during the workshop.
