We know from the response to our recent open tours that the local community are keen to see the glorious newly restored Chapel for themselves. We will have more tours coming up on Sunday 7 April. In the meantime, come and have a sneak preview on this Open House day.

Abney Park Trust are celebrating World Book Day in the Chapel. Sustainability is at the heart of our work and, in this spirit, we invite you to participate in our ‘Give or Take’ Book Swap.

Do you have books you no longer need or your family have outgrown? Bring them to the Chapel and we will find them a good home. Any book donations can also be dropped off at Location, Location. 18 Stoke Newington Church Street up until 5pm on Friday 8 March.

Are you looking for new books? Come and search for new titles - no need to donate, everyone is welcome to take books away.

We commit to ensuring this event is zero waste. At the end of the day, any unclaimed books will be donated to our wonderful local charity shops.

Alongside the book swap, we will also be hosting a pop up second hand book stall from Silver Lining Books. Come and explore their curated collection of diverse and inclusive titles for all ages, from picture books to early readers, YA fiction to graphic novels, non-fiction and beyond. Silver Lining aims to create affordable access to books that promote empathy and understanding and allow everyone to see themselves represented.
