Chair's update, May 2024

We are really getting back into our rhythm and putting on a growing programme of events. These are detailed below and we are trying to appeal to a diverse audience by programming a wide range of activities. We also welcome approaches for new ideas, so please email us with your suggestions. In my time with Abney Park Trust, one of my favourite collaborators is Radio Lento. They made another overnight recording of the dawn chorus on 1 May. It is wonderful to capture the early morning soundscape, have a listen here.

We are told that the cafe is very close to all the formalities being completed and will soon progress to fit out. When this happens, we will be able to do even more with dedicated access to the community room each week. Watch this space.

We also welcome the emergence of the Abney Park User Group, which will ensure a range of views play into the council's management of this precious local nature reserve.
