We're recruiting: join us as the Trust's next Events, Community Engagement and Programming Manager
We’re recruiting for a new Events, Community Engagement and Programming Manager. Could you, or someone you know, run with this chance to put your own stamp on Abney Park in our amazing new facilities?
Abney Park Trust is recruiting for an Events, Community Engagement and Programming Manager to join the team at this pivotal point in the park’s history.
Hackney’s magical urban woodland is about to come to the end of its huge restoration project (funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund), which will see the chapel brought back to its former glory – as well as the construction of new community buildings, and improvements to accessibility.
As the charitable trust which looks after and champions the park’s heritage, nature and community life, we’re seeking a Events, Community Engagement and Programming Manager to put their own stamp on the park’s future. Some of the National Lottery Heritage Fund support will be spent on an activity plan, which Abney Park Trust will be a recipient of – and it’ll be the successful candidate’s job to run this, using their programming and community engagement skills.
And the Abney Park Trust does much more, including a long-running programme of heritage, ecology and community events – the planning of which will also be the successful candidate’s responsibility. It’s an amazing chance for a heritage and community engagement professional to put their own stamp on the park, and to lead on a wide-ranging events programme in fantastic new facilities, while working with our many collaborators and wider network.
We’re looking for someone with experience in planning events and programming, as well as someone who can work in partnership – and with sensitivity to the radical and unusual nature of the site. We’re also looking for someone who is a self-starter, and who can both plan for the long term and execute in the short term.
To apply, please email info@abneypark.org with “Events, Community Engagement and Programming Manager application” in the title, by 12pm on 30th May 2023. Please attach a copy of your CV and a cover letter of no more than one page, outlining why you think you’d be suited to the role. Please also contact this address if you want to have an informal chat with one of our trustees.
