Ellie is a freelance communications consultant. She has spent her career in the commercial sector developing advertising and media campaigns for a range of brands, including charities and the public sector. Ellie specialises in project management and new business generation. In addition, Ellie works to improve the continuous professional development of the communications industry and is a mentor to young women in advertising.

After gaining a master’s degree in marketing, she began her career at the turn of the millennium. Ellie has seen first-hand the challenges and opportunities brought by digital media and has helped brands to embrace digital transformation.

Growing up in Hull, Ellie always knew she wanted to live in the capital and moved to Hackney over 20 years ago. Since having children, she has been keen to inspire the next generation of Londoners and has written a series of walking tours of the city tailored to showcase London to children. The tours include many questions and mini treasure hunts – but very little standing around and listening.

Ellie is a regular visitor to Abney Park. She loves to explore the park with her family and friends. She is fascinated by its social history and the stories of both those who visit the park and those laid to rest there. She is keen to develop new events and activities for children.
