Hackney Council has received funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund to restore and redevelop Abney Park’s historic chapel so that it can be use as a venue. Here, we share the performance spaces as they were before work commenced.
Whilst the recordings in this series are free to watch and listen to, we would really appreciate it if you could make a donation to Abney Park Trust so that we can continue in our role as curators of this beautiful space and continue to put on events in the future for you to enjoy.
Programme

In Episode 4, award-winning writer, Melanie McGrath reads extracts from Mary Wollstonecraft's A Vindication of the Rights of Woman and from her letters to Gilbert Imlay.
Episode 3 features Maia Béar, a classically trained soprano from London, who delights us with four pieces sung in the chapel. Take a listen.
Listen to James Martin sing three pieces in our second installment of the chapel recordings.
Our series of chapel recordings launches with Martina Schwarz and Christopher Allan playing six pieces on the cello and accordion. Enjoy the 360 view of the chapel whilst listening to this talented duo.
