During October the Visitors’ Centre has reduced opening times. Please read further for details.

On 29 August Abney Park Cemetery will be closed to the public for the day. The reason for this is so we can accommodate a film shoot that will be using large sections of the park and the chapel. To maintain clear health and safety regulations it is necessary to close the park. There will be some set dressing, in preparation for the shoot on 27 and 28 August, but public access will still be available.

The Visitors Centre is now closed on Mondays, and also the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. We are open from 10am until 4pm from Tuesday to Friday, 12pm - 4pm on Saturdays, and 12pm - 4pm on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month. When applicable we are also open from 12pm - 4pm on the 5th Sunday of the month.
Drop in for maps of the park, or to peruse our cards, books, posters, t-shirts and other mementos. You can also chat to our friendly staff for further information, and to answer any questions you may have. 

Abney Park Trust are delighted to have runners in the London Marathon on April 28th to fundraise for our memorial restoration projects. We would like to thank Jim Grice and William Deamer who have both generously agreed to run for Abney Park. The restoration projects were voted for by visitors at our last Fayre and include cleaning the large Celtic cross at Abney House corner, or repairing the broken sarcophagus near the Church St entrance. Do you have photo of Dr Issac Watts' lost right hand? Ideally a close up of the hand and lower sleeve, but a distance shot in good light would also be helpful!. The picture is to help ensure the replacement is as accurate as possible and you may help reveal further detail than pictures and engravings already held.

As one of the 'Magnificent Seven' Victorian cemeteries in London, Abney Park are delighted to be included in this year's list of Britain's Best Places to See: Heritage Graveyards and Cemeteries on the Museum Crush website.

The displays from Abney Unearthed, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Hackney Council funded volunteer-based project to map and research those buried in Abney Park are now all in the Hackney Archives.

Are you a keen runner? Would you be able to run for Abney Park in this year's London Marathon? We have been offered two guaranteed places for this year's London Marathon that will take place on Sunday 28th April.

We are looking for a forward-thinking Co-ordinator to join us to lead this work. If you are a well organised project manager with excellent people skills, and want to be part of an exciting community project, this may be the ideal role for you.

Our annual Autumn Fayre on Saturday 20th October was a marvellous day and a huge success with over 1900 people attending.
