We're recruiting a Treasurer: help shape Abney's future

The Abney Park Trust, which looks after the heritage, ecology and community aspect of the Magnificent Seven park, is recruiting a volunteer Treasurer to join its board of trustees.

Our current Treasurer is stepping down at the end of the year – and we are looking for someone to take on the role and help play their part in keeping the park’s finances on track.

The successful candidate will oversee the financial affairs of the Trust and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice, ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial policies and procedures are in place, and more.

The position does not require a formal finance qualification, although experience and familiarity with good financial management and numeracy are required.

You can find a full role description here and an information pack here.

As our chair, Tom Walker, says: “The Trust has a proud heritage over the decades of working to restore the park and encourage community use.  We are a small registered charity with two staff. The Trustees play a very active role in the Trust’s business. As well as the formal responsibilities of being a Treasurer we are looking for someone with knowledge and a passion for Abney including its history, ecology and/or community role.”

Please send us a short CV and covering letter (2 pages maximum) explaining why you would like to be the Treasurer of Abney Park Trust and the skills you would bring to the specific role of Treasurer.

Please send them to: Info@abneypark.org marked “Treasurer Recruitment”.

You can also email any questions you have and we will try to answer them. We’re accepting applications on a rolling basis.
