Temporary closure of the visitor centre and cancellation of events and services

Following government advice, Abney Park Trust has reluctantly decided to cancel or postpone all our upcoming events, close our visitor centre and suspend grave searches. The safety of our dedicated staff and loyal visitors is our top priority so we believe that this is the right thing to do in these challenging circumstances.

Thankfully Abney Park itself remains open to the public and, in this time of crisis, continues to offer a precious space of urban peace and tranquillity.

We will update you on our website and on social media as soon as we feel we can start running our tours and events again. If you have already bought tickets for an upcoming event on Eventbrite, we will be in touch to offer a full refund.

Even though our visitor centre is now closed, and we cannot offer our usual services, we are committed to continuing to employ and pay our wonderful staff members. We will be taking advantage of this enforced downtime to carry out further site research and lay the foundations for a bigger and better programme of events and volunteer opportunities in the future.

We greatly appreciate everyone’s support and hope to welcome you back soon.

A note on our current situation

As with other small charities, the consequence of the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) is hitting us hard. We are hugely reliant on our walking tours, events, and grave searches as essential ways to generate funds to remain in operation. With these channels no longer available to us, we may struggle to survive.

Please help Abney Park Trust to continue in their guardianship of this beautiful space by making a donation. Any amount, no matter how small, will genuinely make a difference to our survival.
