Owls, Moths, Trees and Riddles - A Workshop with John Hegley

Date: Saturday 30 Jan 2021, 11:00 AM
Location: Online

Local writer, musician, poet, and comedian John Hegley will be holding a relaxed and playful virtual workshop as a fundraiser for the Abney Park Trust to help recover the loss of income incurred from the Covid-19 restrictions.

John lives near Abney and has worked everywhere from schools to prisons and libraries to forests. He was formerly a resident poet at Keats House and an online poet for the BBC. The Observer once said that "John Hegley is to potatoes, what Wordsworth has been to daffodils"!

Join John on Zoom on Saturday 30 January and exercise your creativity by drawing and writing about topics related to Abney Park. These will range from an old tall tree to the Longhorn Moth.

While you are working on their writing or drawing, John will be telling a story, reading poetry and performing a song on his mandolin.

This workshop is suitable for children aged 9 and above – although there is no upper age limit! Parents and children in particular may find it a fun activity, but others are welcome.
