Remembrance Sunday

  • Abney Park Trust Stoke Newington High Street London, England, N16 0LH United Kingdom (map)

Join us on Sunday 14th November at 10.30am at the War Memorial in Abney Park Cemetery, where local artists will perform music and poetry to commemorate Remembrance Sunday.

The ceremony will combine traditional elements of a Remembrance Sunday ceremony, such as bugle calls and poetry, with a variety of music – including classical music, Klezmer music and peace songs from different traditions sung by two local choirs.

Set in the beautiful grounds of the cemetery, which is a site of many Commonwealth War Graves, this will be an opportunity to spend time remembering those civilians and soldiers who lost their lives in conflicts across the world.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,

We will remember them."
