Abney Park's Greatest Hits: Virtual Tour with Alan Gartrell

For Abney Park's 181st birthday Abney Park Trust will be putting on a 'greatest hits' virtual tour in which you can find out about the top historic highlights in the cemetery. Afterwards there will be a live Q&A session with guide, Alan Gartrell.

Alan's tour will 'virtually' take you around the park, where he will discuss the varied history of Abney's residents. Highlights include the lives of Salvationists, Abolitionists, Chartists and Music Hall stars as well as the park's architects.

Alan Gartrell has given talks at Abney Park on a regular basis for many years. He is a Stoke Newington local who modestly declares that he is not a historian, but simply a few clicks ahead on Wikipedia of everyone else.
