ABNEY PARK CONTINUES TO BE OPEN, VISIT HACKNEY COUNCIL'S WEBSITE FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Abney Park Trust Office

Abney Park is about to undergo an historic renovation that will bring new community spaces, boost biodiversity, restore the chapel and improve access.

During that time, the Trust's offices will temporarily close. But we will still be here. There will be no public access to our office space, so please make an appointment if you are visiting for a grave search.

To arrange grave searches, find out about volunteering opportunities or make any other enquiry, please email us on info@abneypark.org.

We will try to keep everyone up to date with what's going on. We would like to know about your experiences during this important period of change for Abney - so keep in touch by emailing us at info@abneypark.org.

Reporting after-hours antisocial behaviour
If you are concerned about antisocial behaviour, or see fire when the park is closed, please call the emergency services in the first instance.

Park opening times
The park is open as usual at 8am and closes at dusk - see the park closing times for 2024.
Abney Park is open on Christmas Day.

Closure due to inclement weather
Abney Park will be closed for public safety when there is a yellow wind warning in place over London. The park will reopen once the wind has abated and on-site safety checks have been made.

Parking
On-going restoration works mean that we are unable to offer visitors parking facilities. Please call or email to arrange access before your visit.

  • By bus
Buses 73, 393 and 476 stop near the Park's Stoke Newington Church Street entrance.

Abney Park access information
There is level access via the main entrance on Stoke Newington High Street.
The entrance at Church Street now has a new ramp and wider paths to increase accessibility.
The internal drive from the main entrance is cobbled and the major paths within the park are solid, but uneven in places and can be slippery and slightly muddy when wet.
Smaller paths can be narrow, uneven and slippery.

Please contact us on info@abneypark.org with any access queries.

Safeguarding London’s Abney Park Cemetery, Historic England

With support from Historic England's Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund, Abney Park Cemetery has been able to cover costs such as staff wages, and purchase equipment that has allowed them to produce innovative digital content for audiences to enjoy during lockdown. This short video was recorded in the winter of 2020 with Historic England so they could see how we spent the money, find out what we do at the Trust, and get to see the highlights of the park.
