The works to the spire of the Abney Park Chapel are now complete. The cross on top of the spire was almost completely worn away, and has now been rebuilt. Scaffolding has been removed from the spire and will continue to recede down the building.
The stabilisation process has involved rebuilding the roof and finishing the the stone work on the main body of the building. Currently underway are works to the floor of the building, the work to rebuild the gutters, and to rectify the drainage around the foundations.
The large volume of work required has meant that the finish date for this project has been put back slightly. We now hope to have everything finished by the end of February 2017.
